ITINERARY

Day 1 - Fri., June 27
- Arrive in Pisa, Leaning Tower, Overnight in Lucca
A private transfer and your tour manager will meet you at
the airport in Pisa. Please book a flight to arrive early in the
morning. Before heading to your hotel in Lucca,
you will stop in Pisa, at Piazza del Duomo, an enormous square with
magnificent buildings with fabulous architecture. The square is
dominated by the famous Leaning Tower.
You will spend your first 3 nights in ancient Lucca, one of the most charming and elegant cities of Tuscany
that is completely enclosed by a well preserved wall. The wall is
wide enough to hold small parks and a path along the top. Lucca
is also the birthplace of composer, Giacomo Puccini.
City sites include charming squares, a well preserved medieval city walls, the
beautiful churches of San Martino and San Frediano
and it also has great shopping.
The group will explore Lucca late
afternoon. Welcome Dinner follows. (B, D)
Day 2 - Sat., June 28 -
Florence, Overnight in Lucca
A guided tour of Florence is planned in the
morning with a visit to Accademia for Michelangelo's famous Statue of
David. Free time on your own to explore after our group lunch.
Your tour manager is available, as always, if you want company.
Possibility to visit the Uffizi museum.
Let us know ahead of time, if you are interested.
You'll be back in Lucca in the evening.
Free time when you return to enjoy Lucca.

Day 3 - Sun., June 29 -
Cinque Terre, Overnight in Lucca
Today, you will travel to Cinque Terre and tour its
villages high above the cliffs overlooking the sea.
You will travel by train or boat for easy access of the villages not
accessible by cars. Walk or hike to one of the villages and you will be rewarded by fantastic views of
the ocean, olive groves, fig trees and vineyards. Scenic towns,
colorful rooftops and quaint restaurants are to be enjoyed.
Return to Lucca late afternoon or evening.

Day 4 - Mon., June 30 -
Siena, Pienza, Overnight in Pienza
Today, you will move to your next hotel in tiny and
perfectly laid city of Pienza, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Pope Pius II ordered to have this town, his birthplace, redesigned into
a masterpiece. Pienza is also well know for its production
of pecorino cheese.
On the way, you will stop in car-free medieval city of
Siena, one of our favorite in Tuscany. Famous for the bare back
horse race called Il Palio, Siena has many things to offer. The
city has great Gothic architecture, beautiful squares, interesting
museums and shops, important churches and lively neighborhoods.
Time permitting, we will go to walled city of Monteriggioni.
You will be in Pienza late afternoon when you'll be able
to enjoy this wonderful town. Group dinner tonight in Pienza.

Day 5 - Tues., July
1 - Montalcino, Wine Tasting, Abbey of Sant'Antimo, Overnight in Pienza
This morning you will continue traveling the back roads
of Tuscany to tour the unforgettable Romanesque Abbey Sant'Antimo, a
Benedictine monastery dating back to the 9th century. It is a
simple yet magnificent stone church, set amongst the field of olive
trees. We plan to arrive in time to see the monks at the altar, clad in their white robes
chanting their prayers in Latin.
After, you will tour Montalcino, world-famous for its
beloved Brunello di Montalcino. Your Montalcino tour is not
complete without wine tasting of Brunello di Montalcino. Details
to follow.
You will return to Pienza in the evening. The group
will have dinner together. (B, D)
Day 6 - Wed., July 2 -
Cortona, Montepulciano, Torgiano, Overnight in Torgiano
Today, you will move to Torgiano in Umbria, where you
will be staying in a beautiful 5 Star hotel run by a wine producer
family.
You will tour the walled hill town of Montepulciano,
another famous wine town in Tuscany. It's charming with narrow
cobbled streets and wine shops abound, all offering its delicious Vino
Nobile di Montepulciano.
Welcome cocktail when we in the evening.
Dinner on your own at the hotel restaurant or at a restaurant in town.

Day 7 - Thurs., July 3 -
Wine & Olive Oil Museum, Leisure Time, Overnight in Torgiano
NOTE:
Massages should be booked ahead of time.
A 10:00am a tour of a wine museum and olive oil museum is
planned.
You are free after the tour to relax and enjoy the
beautiful full service hotel with a pool overlooking the valley.
Indoor pool is also available. Massages are available, if you are
interested. The hotel has a great restaurant for you to enjoy or
you may try one of the restaurant a block away from the hotel.

Optional Tour of Assisi
is available.
If you would like to do a day trip to Assisi, let
us know and well arrange this for you and others in the group who are
interested.
Day 8 - Fri., July 4 - Deruta, Overnight in Rome
This morning, the group will explore Deruta, a town famous for ceramics, where you will
have an opportunity to buy ceramics. After your time here, the
group will head for Rome. You will arrive Rome early in the
afternoon. You are staying in Rome so that you can get to the airport
easily for your flight home the next day. However, you will arrive
early enough to get to see few of the sites and do some shopping.
(Additional nights in Rome can be arranged.)
Farewell lunch is planned. (B, L)
Day 9 - Sat., July 5 - Departure for home.
Prepare for your flight home after breakfast. (B)
