This private guided shore excursion of Monaco,
Monte-Carlo, Nice & Eze begins with a scenic drive through Monte Carlo. Here you have the option to stay longer to visit one of the sites like the Old Town of Monaco, Prince’s Palace, Cathedral,
and Cousteau’s Oceanographic Museum. NOTE: A stop at any of the sites just mentioned will take away time from the scheduled itinerary.
Your guided tour the French Riviera will continue on to Monte
Carlo, where you will drive along the exhilarating
Formula One Grand Prix circuit. You will have
some free time at Casino Square, where you
can enjoy some luxurious shopping, and stroll
amongst the stunning gardens, mega-yachts,
and chic casinos… or simply watch the “rich
and beautiful” enjoying the good life at their
favorite haunts.
Your escorted tour of the French Riviera continues
with a drive along the spectacular aqua waters
of the coastline between Nice and Monaco, lined
with typical Mediterranean villages and modern
marinas. You can admire the view of the Bay
and Citadel of Villefranche on the drive. On
the Middle Corniche, you will stop at Eze,
a medieval village perched on the hillside,
featuring another breathtaking panorama. Here
you will enjoy a guided tour of Fragonard,
a classic perfumery, and have some time to
visit crafts shops.
Finally, you will arrive in Nice for a guided
tour of this elegant and historic city. You
will begin with a visit to Castel Park, overlooking
the Bay of Angels, and Old Town, site of the
trading center founded by the Greeks 2,700
years ago. From here, you will drive along
the harbor and admire the historic Genoese
architecture. You can contemplate the old in
the 18th century Place Garibaldi and the new along Promenade des Arts, home to the Modern
Art Museum, among other sights.
Next you will arrive in Cimiez, the winter
home of Queen Victoria, making a stop at the
Roman Arenas of Cemenelum. Time permitting, you may visit the extraordinary
Russian Cathedral; built in 1912, it is the
largest and most beautiful outside Russia.
You will return by Promenade des Anglais, passing
its famous landmarks and “Belle Epoque” buildings.
Your visit to Nice concludes with a visit to
the colorful and fragrant flower market in
the Old Town. Here you can try socca, a chickpea
crepe that is a Niçoise specialty.
