This privately guided shore excursion features Biarritz, one of the most popular resort towns in the area. Dubbed the “Jewel of the Coast,” Biarritz has transformed itself over the centuries, from a tiny fishing village to an early 20th-century aristocratic resort whose character remains today. Visitors flock here for the glamorous beaches and waterfront casinos, but the town offers a whole lot more. You will get a tour of the city’s landmarks, which capture the architectural metamorphosis at the turn of the 20th century. You can visit the blue-domed Russian Orthodox Church, constructed in the 19th century for visiting Russian aristocrats, or the 12th century St. Martin's Church. There are also some interesting museums you can opt to tour, such as the Museum of Chocolate or the Museum of the Sea, which has 24 aquariums containing sharks and seals. In the afternoon, you will get an opportunity to experience the rich Basque culture of the region, by touring some beautiful Basque villages.
