to some of the most beautiful places in Provence.
This delightful Provence shore excursion is a
treat for the senses. Your private guided tour
begins with a trip to Les Baux de Provence, famous
for its medieval hilltop castle and village carved
right out of the cliff face. Cars are banned
from the steep, winding streets, so you will
have a brisk walk up the hill to the sights.
Next, your guided tour of the Provence countryside
will continue to a goat-breeding farm, where
you will sample several creamy goat cheeses.
The "Banon" is the king of Provençal
cheeses. Wrapped in chestnut leaves, this goat
cheese has the AOC label (Appellation of Controlled
Origin) as well as the "Dieulefit" or
the "Tomme d'Arles." As you tour the
facility, your guide will explain the curing
process, which follows different methods and
produces various flavors depending on the region.
After lunch, your tour will continue to Gordes,
a beautiful medieval village with stone houses
perched on the hillside, and Roussillon, known
for rich ochre deposits that paint the landscape
various shades of reddish-orange. This area is
right on the Lavender Trail, transformed with
fragrant purple blossoms in July and August.

toast in a famous "Côtes du Luberon" winery.
