PRIVATE TOUR OF FORTUNY MUSEUM & VENICE WALKING TOUR - VENICE SHORE EXCURSIONS FROM SAN BASILIO OR MARITTIMA
Shore Tour Includes: Roundtrip transportation to and from the dock, entrance tickets to Doge's palace (OR a site in the optional tour of Castello district) and Fortuny museum, services of private tour guide, free time to explore on your own.
All our private shore excursions from Venice's San Basilio and Marittima can be fully customized for families, couples or private groups.
Mariano Fortuny converted this grand Gothic
palace into a studio for painting, photography,
set design and textile arts. Mariano's widow
donated the building to the city in 1956. In
its current incarnation as the Fortuny Museum,
the rooms, structures, upholstery and collections
have all been retained according to their functions
in the former studio. The museum, long closed
for renovation, has recently been reopened.
On this private guided tour of Venice, you will also see three of the city’s most important sights. Your licensed tour guide will pick you up at the dock and take you to Venice, in St. Mark's Square. You will see many of its historical and artistic treasures
dating from antiquity: the Cathedral with its precious mosaics; the Doge’s Palace with its well-known Bridge of Sighs; the Procuratie palaces and the Napoleonic Wing; and the Clock Tower, the Campanile and the Marciana National Library.
You can decide whether to include in the tour the visit to the Doge's Palace inside or continue your walk to the Rialto area or the Castello district, which centers on St. John and St. Paul's Square. Here you can visit the beautiful Renaissance Church of the Miracles or the Querini Stampalia Foundation, housed in a famous Venetian palace with its original antique furniture as well as a precious art collection.
Your free time follows after the morning session with
your Venice tour guide. After lunch and some free time, you will tour with the your guide again until it's time to return to the ship.
